Kathleen Boswell Scholarship

THE KATHLEEN BOSWELL SCHOLARSHIP was established in recognition of Kathleen’s 45 years of outstanding service to Region 10. Her dedication and contributions to the Center’s mission will be honored and reflected by scholarship recipients as they pursue post-secondary degrees.

Guidelines and Criteria

Region 10 ESC intends to annually award one or more scholarship(s)* in amounts up to $1,000, payable to courses, a certification, post-secondary school, or an Alternative Teacher Certification Program that the recipient is attending. The scholarship recipient(s) will be announced at the Region 10 Holiday Celebration in December.

*Number of scholarships awarded each year will be determined by the scholarship committee.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Each applicant must be enrolled in an accredited post-secondary school pursuing a degree, an alternative teacher certification program, or a certification. Proof of enrollment and/or transcript must be provided.

  • Each applicant must be a current Region 10 employee serving in a support staff role.

  • Recipients of the Kathleen Boswell Scholarship are eligible to apply for the scholarship again, but are required to complete a new application for each year they apply; previous candidates may apply again but are also required to complete a new application for each year they apply.

Guidelines

  • Complete the application form in its entirety, including answers to questions/statements requiring essay responses, 400 words or fewer.

  • Provide proof of enrollment and/or transcript from a current post-secondary institution or certification program.

  • Secure one letter of recommendation on official letterhead from an instructor of a current course at the applicant’s post-secondary institution or certification program.

  • Obtain one recommendation letter from current supervisor** at Region 10 ESC.

  • To complete the application process, fill out the application form, located on the Finance page on our R10 Connect site. Print, sign, and attach your proof of enrollment/transcript, as well as your required recommendation letters; place all required documents into a sealed envelope, which may then be sent via interoffice mail, addressed to Sue Hayes in the Business Office.  An alternative would be to scan all aforementioned documents and send them as attachments via email to sue.hayes@region10.org.

**If you are a previous recipient of the Kathleen Boswell Scholarship, your letter of recommendation should come from an R10 manager to whom you do not report.
