We Care

The 'We Care' program is designed as a way for R10 employees to “care” for one another throughout the year.  Annual, one-time contributions by our staff members are utilized to purchase cards, flowers, food, etc. when colleagues are facing difficulties such as loss, illness or injury.
In addition, contributions by our professional staff members are utilized to show appreciation to our amazing administrative assistants at the winter holiday and on Administrative Assistants Day.

Guidelines & Procedures

What is the We Care fund?

The fund allows R10 staff the means to acknowledge the death or serious illness of a staff member, or the death of a staff member’s immediate family (spouse, child or parent). It also gives R10 professional staff an avenue for expressing appreciation to administrative assistants.

How does We Care work?

The fund is for all R10 staff members, whether they choose to contribute or not. Individuals who wish to participate pay $12 per year. An additional $30 is collected from all professional staff with funds to be used for holiday gifts and the annual Administrative Assistants’ Day event. Participation is voluntary but strongly encouraged.

Flower Fund

In the case of illness or death: Donations will be applied toward the purchase of moderately priced floral arrangements, plants, cookie bouquets, or other suitable items. Items are sent to a staff member after the sixth workday of a home stay or the second day of a hospital visit. In the event of the death of a staff member or his/her immediate family (defined as spouse, child or parent) floral arrangements, plants, donations, or other suitable items are sent.

Social Fund

To honor staff members: The R10 Social Committee selects, purchases and delivers holiday gifts to each administrative assistant prior to the winter break. (Committee members are chosen each year using director recommendations from each service area.) The same committee plans, arranges, and publicizes the annual Administrative Assistants’ Day event.

What type of information is needed to initiate a We Care Request and who should be notified?

Please notify your Director/Cabinet member in a timely manner when you become aware of a situation for which the We Care fund is established. All We Care requests  will be handled through the lead administrative assistant for your service area.

To fill out a request form they will need the following information:

  •  the person’s name, home address, and contact phone

  • or the name/address/room number/phone number of the hospital where they’re staying.

  • In case of a death, include the name of the deceased along with contact information for the funeral home where remembrances are to be sent. Also, please include a contact phone number.
